A carbon recovery operation owned and operated by a contractor is taking place at the Old Ed Mine with a capacity of processing 150,000 tons of gob annually.
A carbon plant opened in April 2004 featuring a 200 tph cyclone/spiral process. A 500-tons-per-hour barrel/cyclone plant became operational in the spring 2005 to handle gob.
